Customer Request

The Joseph A. Floreano Convention Center is a prominent event venue in the downtown area of Rochester, occupying an expansive 100,000 square feet of space. The center is a favored location for various events, from weddings and conferences to trade shows, thanks to its spacious and modern facilities.  Recently, as part of the ROC the Riverway initiative, the convention center began updating its facilities to improve the overall experience for attendees.  Among the various improvements was the replacement of the building's original escalator units. To aid in these renovations, the center recruited Boulter to assist with the removal and installation of the building's escalators.

Solution

To meet the requirements of the project, Boulter applied various capabilities and processes. Warehousing was necessary to store and secure the new escalators until the time of the installation. Heavy hauling was then arranged, and Boulter transported the escalators, one at a time, to the Convention Center. Rigging was another essential capability utilized for this project, which involved the removal of ten old escalators and the installation of six new ones.

Boulter's skilled rigging team worked tirelessly to ensure that the installation process would not disrupt the center's operations or the ongoing renovations. This meant they had to work in a controlled and efficient manner. Through the rigging process, Boulter carefully removed the old escalators and installed the new ones to the manufacturer's specifications. Boulter's experienced team successfully completed the project, and the new escalators were installed in the convention center, enabling visitors to enjoy a better experience.
